2004 "The Right Fit" Newsletter cont'd

There are dozens of Dragon Boat teams across Canada and the United States who would love to attend but who need help to raise the money for their travel expenses. We are already in negotiations with airlines to ante up a 2 for 1 deal to help our participants with their airfare. Some of our retailers have already committed to help their local Dragon Boat teams in this quest while other retailers are considering the idea. Perhaps your store could think about this and offer some help in either a small or a big way. If you do not have a dragon boat team in your area, you might like to fundraise to help with our breakfasts for dragon boaters, our lunches, our dinners or one of our evening events. The more financial help we have, the more money can go into our Draw for the Cure and into our support and awareness pledges for breast cancer across North America.

I would offer you a reminder at this time about our Draw for the Cure. We establish a pot - e.g. $20,000.00 - and enter the names of all our participating breast cancer survivor teams. We will then draw 4 team names and split the pot evenly between them - $ 5,000 each. Last July, our delighted team winners were: 1) Hope Chest, Buffalo, NY 2) Breast Buddies, Chatham, ON 3) Rowbust, London, ON 4) Knot a Breast, Hamilton, ON. The London Rowbust team fundraised with car washes, bake sales etc. to match their winnings and donated all proceeds and winnings alike to their local breast cancer clinic. Well done, Rowbust!
